about

A little darker than usual for me. But my friend Martin Samuel had that great opening line and I went with it. Had fun with the arrangement; kind of Bobby McFerrin meets Jimmy Cliff. Jerry Sutherland from "Boyz From Detroit" and Sophie Sterckx added some magnificent background vocals; my favorite part of the song now! :>)

lyrics

Drifting

In a world full of people,
You'd think it would be easy, to find someone to love.
Lost in a crowd,
I want to cry out loud.

Drifting in this sea,
Of vast humanity,
I'm searching for, a distant shore,
Where true love waits for me.

Empty horizons, each way I look.
No sense of direction, no nibble on my hook.
If I should scream,
Nobody would hear me.

Drifting, lost at sea.
In this vast humanity.
I'm searching for, some distant shore,
Where love must wait for me.

There've been complications, mis-navigation,
Could I have sailed right past you?
Passing like ships in the dark, were you calling my heart,
Saying you were lonely too?

Why should I struggle... just let myself sink,
Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink.
But I won't give up,
Until I find your love.

Drifting in this sea,
Of vast humanity,
I'm searching for, a distant shore,
Where true love waits for me.

Drifting lost at sea,
In this vast humanity,
ButI keep searching for, some mystical shore,
Where I know love waits for me.
